PALMETTE
3-hour course

We are talking about 'Palmette'...that is right, 'Palmette'!
A pleasure and pain for many lacemakers.
Whether you call it 'Palmette', 'Pesciolini' or 'Armelette', it is time for those who have a certain mastery of lacemaking to embark in this exciting adventure. It is not that hard after all: you will only need patience and a little effort...The results will be great!

A 'Palmette'-dedicated workshop to learn how to create one of the most characteristic and appreciated decorations. A precious decoration indeed, which enriches lace and breaks the mould of traditional lace schemes.

BACKGROUND STITCH: PUNTO RAGNO ("SPIDER STITCH")
3-hour course

Grrrr, spiders...plenty of spiders chasing each other in neat rows or scattered throughout the continuous thread lace.
But when you have learnt the right steps, it is fun to make one after another. And then, if you look carefully, they do not resemble spiders anymore, but rather many little snowflakes.
One of the most used lace background stitches, gleaned from the common heritage of local culture, will be taught during the workshop. Participants will be given the twine pattern and a small pricking for the realisation of a lace sample.

"PUNTO PARIGI" ("PARIS STITCH") AND "PUNTO TURCO" ("TURKISH STITCH") EMBROIDERY TO APPLY LACE TO A CANVAS
6-hour course

The basics of lace application to a canvas. Participants will have the chance to create precious objects and insert simple lace items in a canvas using these two stitches.
Enough material will be provided as to make it possible to complete the work by the end of the workshop.
